Learning objectives

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with broader concepts and areas of social pedagogy, with dissocial pedagogical phenomena, their treatment and prevention, training to understand the holistic social conditions of pedagogical phenomena, as well as training for work and research in the field of social pedagogy.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, students should acquire the following competencies:
knowledge (basic knowledge of social pedagogy as a scientific discipline),
understanding (different forms of behavioral disorders in children and youth, the process of their stigmatization, marginalization and exclusion, as well as the possibility of social pedagogical work with them).
assessment (the impact of the social environment on the occurrence of certain behavioral disorders in children and youth, as well as practical socio-pedagogical action regarding early intervention and detection of such disorders, and treatment and follow-up support for such individuals, groups and communities).

Evaluation and grading

Checking knowledge and determining how active students are in teaching is done throughout the semester. Knowledge is tested using two colloquia, and students' activity is expressed through writing seminar papers, regular attendance, participation in debates, preparation of presentations and other forms of creative participation in the teaching process. In this way, students fulfill the pre-examination obligations through which they can gain 50 points (two colloquia of 20 points each, a seminar paper of 5 points and an orderly and active attendance of 5 points). The final exam is taken orally and carries a maximum of 50 points.

Lectures and exercises with interactive learning. Interactive learning by groups. Screening of video materials and documentaries. Seminars in literature. Written seminar papers. Oral comments and short presentations in class. Consultations.
