Technical Protection and Legislation
Methods of surface exploitation, Methods of underground exploitation
Sompleted classes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the mining students with the legal regulation on labour safety,
potential dangers that can occur in the mines, technical protection measures to prevent them, and how to
organize a mine rescue service, create an action plan and save a mine and provide first aid to the injured
workers.
The student will to acquire the skills for practical and theoretical knowledge related to the organization
and implementation of labour safety in the mining companies, preparation of appropriate instructions,
company documents, reports and analyzes in the field of labour safety, fire protection plans, action plans
and rescue of labours, choosing of the necessary works fire equipment and means for extinguishing fires,
means of collective and personal safety equipment. Comprehensive assessment of potential hazards and
taking a specific measures to prevent them in all techological processes of surface and underground
exploitation of mineral ore materials, mineral processing of ores, including the selection of equipment for
the prevention and early detection of the potential hazards and procedures for their elimination. Training
for labour rescuing and material resource in case of accidents in mines, handling of filtration and
isolative devices and devices for reviving people, providing first aid to injured workers and taking all
necessary measures to protect life and health of people and property.
