In accordance with First Cycle Academic Studies Rules of Studying
This B1-B2 level academic course in English aims at providing students with intercultural skills necessary for successfully communicating and understanding various social, economic, and ethical concepts in the professional field of journalism and communication studies and across the entire realm of social sciences and humanities. In addition, the course offers elaboration and clarification of the points of English grammar that serve the aforementioned central goals, as well as strategies and techniques for building up one's own professional vocabulary and mastering rhetorical features of both written and spoken language.
Upon the end of the course, the students will have been able to understand the challenges of writing emails and business letters internationally, to communicate clearly and more sensitively in emails, to understand the challenges of negotiating across cultures, to learn the language for influencing, to avoid potential conflicts, to manage conflict situations, to understand the challenges of working in an international team, to respond to feedback, to understand the value of diversity for organisations, and to introduce and evaluate ideas in meetings.

Third week: Negotiating Across Cultures - Challenges. Adjectives (Word Order). Fourth week: Negotiating Across Cultures - Influencing. Prepositions (Advanced Points). Fifth week: Managing Conflict - Avoiding Techniques. Future Time (Advanced Points) Sixth week: Managing Conflict - Strategies. Detereminers Seventh week: Mid-term Exam. Eighth week: Working in a: n International Team - Challenges. Numerals Ninth week: Working in an International Team - Feedback. Non-Finite Forms Tenth week: Managing diversity and creativity - Evaluation. Modal Verbs (Advanced Points). Eleventh week: Managing diversity and creativity - Brainstorming. Pseudo-Passive Structures. Twelfth week: Profiling Your Intercultural Competence. Job Interview. Thirteenth wek: Motivational Letter. Review of Spoken Grammar. Fourteenth week: Cultural Issues.
