Introduction with basic concepts of geology, composition, age and history of the Earth, geotectonic theories, endogenous and exogenous processes, geological structures, historical geology, geological maps and geological structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The goal of studying the subject is to integrate the acquired knowledge with other professional subjects of the study program through the realization of the program of lectures and exercises.
Through the implementation of the teaching program, students will acquire theoretical knowledge about the Earth and the earth's crust, its composition, structure, age and evolution, endodynamic and exodynamic processes that occur in and on it. Familiarity with the geological compass, different types of geological maps and accompanying interpreters, then with geological structures (folds, faults, etc.). Students will be trained to create the simplest geological graphics through the implementation of the exercise program "Drawing a geological map based on geological observation points", "Geological column" and "Geological profile".
I Basic information about the Earth. Exercises: Introduction.
II Minerals and rocks. Exercises: Showing of minerals and rocks.
III Contemporary geotectonic theories. Plate tectonics. Exercises: Current example on models.
IV Endogenous processes. Exercises: Demonstration of the rocks.
V Seismology. Exercises: Current examples.
VI Structural elements of the lithosphere - Layer. Exercises: Geological compass.
VII Structural elements of the lithosphere - Folds. Exercises: Showing the measured elements of the fall of geological structures.
VIII Structural elements of the lithosphere - Faults. Exercises: Spatial orientation of linear and planar lines shown by the dip elements.
VIII Structural elements of the lithosphere. Faults. Exercises: Spatial orientation of linear and planar.
IX Interpretation of the Earth's geological structure on maps. Exercises: Drawing a geological map based on geological observation points.
X Exodynamics. Exercises: Drawing a geological map based on geological observation points.
XI Exogenous processes. Exercises: Making the geological profile.
XII Glacial and aeolian process. Exercises: Making the geological profile.
XIII Geology and time, geochronology. Exercises: Showing fossils, making a geological column.
XIV Chronostratigraphic scale and main characteristics of the Precambrian, Paleozoic and Mesozoic.
Exercises: Showing fossils, making a geological column.
XV Geological structure and tectonics of Bosnia and Herzegovina Exercises: Repetition.
