Learning objectives

Introduction with basic concepts of geology, composition, age and history of the Earth, geotectonic theories, endogenous and exogenous processes, geological structures, historical geology, geological maps and geological structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The goal of studying the subject is to integrate the acquired knowledge with other professional subjects of the study program through the realization of the program of lectures and exercises.

Learning outcomes

Through the implementation of the teaching program, students will acquire theoretical knowledge about the Earth and the earth's crust, its composition, structure, age and evolution, endodynamic and exodynamic processes that occur in and on it. Introduction with the geological compass, different types of geological maps and accompanying interpreters, then with geological structures (folds, faults, etc.). Students will be trained to create the simplest geological graphics through the implementation of the exercise program "Drawing a geological map based on geological observation points", "Geological column" and "Geological profile". In this way, the student will be able to understand and apply the acquired knowledge and skills in the field of geology for independent work or in a team composed of experts of various profiles.
