Learning objectives

Study of the morphology of vegetative and generative plant organs

Learning outcomes

Students will acquire knowledge about the morphological structure of plants, which will be the basis for understanding the functions of the plant organism and its relationship to the environment, and easier mastering the program of the subject Systematics and phylogeny of cormophytes, especially in the part related to the determination of plant material.

Course contents

Theoretical teaching: Evolutionary development of plant tissue. Morphology of vegetative plant organs: roots, stems, and leaves. Asexual and sexual reproduction of plants. Flower, inflorescence, pollination, fertilization, seed, polyembryony, and apomixis. Fruits: monanthocarpic and polyanthocarpic. Dispersal of seeds and fruits
Practical teaching: Getting to know the morphological structure of plants on natural plant material.
